Just Because -- Project 365

I decided to participate in the ever popular Project 365 where you basically take at least one photo a day. I figured that I would take it a step further and divide it into weekly themes, so I will try to stick with this new project. My first week was Yellow.

1) Yellow Earrings. This is probably my favorite picture out of the week! I love the depth of field, and I love earrings. The bigger the earrings the better!
2) A free yellow bag that I received just last week. I'm using it to hold my camera until I can decide on a camera bag that I like.
3) A yellow pitcher that I received as one of my wedding gifts. I used some flowers from my wedding and put them in it, too. It kind of reminds me of a Southern Living catalog.
4) I have a lot of yellow shirts. And that's not all of them!
5) Chicken cubes for stocks and soups. I was running out yellow things to photograph. LOL!
6) Yellow knitting needles. I picked up knitting last year. I decided that I wanted to learn how to knit so I taught myself and I absolutely love it! I can't wait for winter so I can start rockin' out all the scarves that I knitted!
7) A self portrait of, well, me! I currently have blonde hair and I was wearing a yellow blouse. So, I figured why not.

Chris and Jessica - Couples

These two are so much fun! I took their pictures back in June. It was for their anniversary. We had a blast just goofing off in the hot June sun. I wanted to try a spot that kind of reminded me of True Blood (a show that both Jessica and I are huge fans of) but when we got up close to it I chickened out. Chris said that there could be snakes out there, and there was just no way I was stepping out there. The picture where they are trying to touch hands was close to the spot. It's under the Lock and Dam bridge heading into Barling.

I love the first one with it's very hazy feel to it. It kind of looks like they are in a fogged up shower. H-O-T!!!

Linda - Portraits

I did portraits of my mom for her birthday. It was the first time in a really long time since she had her portrait taken. I think these turned out beautifully. We took these on my family's farm, right after the hay was bailed. It was very sunny and bright, and the lighting was harsh. But, we managed to get some beautiful shots, and I think my mom is the perfect model. Can you see the Miss Crawford County in her? She won Miss Crawford County back when she was a teenager and she is still absolutely beautiful. I love you, Mom!

The middle one is my favorite!

Marshall and Danielle - Couples

This was my first couples photography session. I took these back in May. Along with it being my first "couples" session it was also my second photography session. With the previous lessons that I learned from my first session with my brother and his family, I felt that my photography had really evolved with this one. Some of my favorite pictures to date were produced from this session. And I have to say that with such a beautiful couple, it was easy to love these pictures! And the third picture seems to be a favorite not only by me but others, too. It is a very romantic picture to look at. And it wasn't even planned, which is what makes it so great!

Michael, Rosemary, and Marshall - Family Portraits

Here are some pictures from my first portrait session ever. My brother and his family were kind enough to let me use them as guinea pigs. And I learned a lot of lessons from that day. We had to pause quite a bit due to the rain, but the overcast skies allowed me to capture some beautiful colors. Expect more pictures of them because I've recently learned that I will be an aunt again!

Isn't my nephew the cutest!

About This Blog

This blog is used to showcase my journey as a photographer. Photography is somewhat new to me in the sense that it is a field that is always evolving. I love learning all the new tricks to photography. But, I also love seeing something new through the lens of a camera.

My main photographical interest is people. I especially enjoy the lifestyle look. To me it's a more natural look and it captures who that person(s) truly is.
